The new building has 1,600 m2 of floor space and cost NOK 18 million.  An additional NOK 30 million has been invested in advanced technology.  Six robots will apply water-based stains and varnishes in sealed cells. They are capable of processing 3,400 chassis a day.

During the building's construction account was taken of the risk of a tidal wave caused by a huge rockfall from the mountain Åkerneset in the Municipality of Stranda.  The concrete floor is 90 cm thick and designed to prevent uplift.  The windows have been moved an extra half metre up the wall and the technical equipment installed on the second floor.

The new 1,650 m2 dispatch building is also now ready for use. NOK 15 million was invested in this building, which provides Ekornes with six new loading ramps for vehicles in addition to the existing six loading ramps and container harbour currently in use.
